    Youth Parliament

    Youth Parliament was conducted in Our Vidyalaya PM SHRI K.V. O.F. Chanda under PM Shri Scheme during 2023- 2024 session. Total 47 students participated in this program from class IX to XII and time duration was 1 hour. The youth parliament was started with announcement regarding the appearance of honourable speaker madam. Thereafter the entire house stand-up till the speaker has been reached the chair and taken her seat after bowing to her left first then to her right and last in front of her. The members from the respective side also reciprocate by bowing their heads to the speaker. The speaker welcomed all the youth parliament members and started with first item in the list of business which is oath or affirmation. With the proceeding of secretary General the oath is completed by two new parliament members. Then obituary reference to inform the house of the demise of former MP of Karnataka, Shekhar Rao by Speaker, Prime minister and opponent leader. After introduction of new minister’s question hour was started. In question hour different minister like minister of Finance, minister of defence, minister of electronics and information technology, minister of youth affairs and sports, minister of agriculture and farmer welfare, minister of minority affair, minister of law and justice answered the questions of opponent members of Parliament. Then Breach of Privilege and Paper to be laid were taken. After that Secretory general report the message from the upper chamber. Next the house took Calling Attention Motion. After that bill of central vigilance commission was introduced and the motion is adopted with majority support. Following the bill introduction, the house is adjourned to meet again tomorrow at 11am.
    This Youth Parliament helped students to strengthen the roots of democracy, citizenship skill, value of constitution, inculcate healthy habits of discipline, tolerance of the view of others and to enable the student community to know about practices and procedures of the Parliament.
