Kendriya Vidyalaya O.F. Chanda was started in July 1978 situated in Bhardrawati in Chandrapur district (Maharashtra). This ideal center of education is a unit of an effective and well knit organization of “Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan”, under the ministry of Education, Govt. of India. Due to its glorious history and great achievements. In the past few years, it has grown rapidly in every field and got appreciation from all sides.

The total strength of students is 1399 with 43 staff members and running 3 sections each from Class- I to V, 4 sections each for class VI to VIII, 3 sections each from Class- IX to X , and one section for class XI and XII(Science)The school is located in the Defence Area , near by Bhandak railway station which is hardly 6 KM away. The lush green campus encourages a vital relationship with nature and it pulsates the pace of information technology as well as Indian art & culture.

A very famous place Anandwan is located just 25 KM away from our School. Anandwan is the realization of the dream of one man- Muralidhar Devidas "Baba" Amte and the enduring efforts of the organization he set up. For this journey, with all its trials and tribulations, holds major lessons for humankind. What made this journey possible is untiring energy and a never-say-die attitude. The work of Baba Amte, was unanimously praised by many national and international organizations. He was awarded with the United Nations Human Rights Prize, the Ramon Magsaysay award (1985), the Templeton Prize(1990), the Gandhi Peace Prize, and many other humanitarian and environmental prizes. The Ramon Magsaysay Award is often considered as the "Nobel Prize of Asia".
